• Asthma
• Well Woman including cervical smears
• Family Planning
• Minor Surgery
• Foreign Travel – Health Care and Immunisation advice including Yellow Fever (see the above tab for more details)
• Child health surveillance and Immunisations
• Smoking Advice – the doctors can refer you for Smoking Cessation Therapy. You can also call Smokeline on 0800 848484 or obtain nicotine replacement therapy from your local pharmacy.

If you have not been seen at the surgery for three years (or one year for those over 75 years) you can request a check-up appointment if you wish.  Please call 0131 554 6471 to make an appointment or if you are unable to attend the surgery to make alternative arrangements.

Our nurses can also be seen for general nursing duties including:

• Ear Syringing (download our ear care leaflet)
• Healthy Living Advice
• Blood Tests
• Blood Pressure Checks
• Dressings

Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

• Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
• Insurance claim forms
• Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
• Private sick notes
• Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
 

Test Results

Our receptionists will give results over the telephone after 11:00 Monday to Friday on 0131 554 6471.

You will be given advised of how long it will take for the practice to receive the results when the test is taken.
