A Pharmacy in our area can collect prescriptions from the surgery on behalf of patients and offer a free home delivery service to shielded patients. They are also able to support patients by making treatment for minor illnesses more accessible.
Patients can have a consultation with the Pharmacist who can then provide advice, onward referral and/or treatment.
They can provide this service over the telephone or in person at the pharmacy, observing all appropriate social distancing measures
You may also have heard of the new NHS Pharmacy First Service. This will now launch in July 2020 and will include a list of approved medicines which can be supplied, allowing the Pharmacist to treat a variety of illnesses. This will sit alongside the current national UTI and Impetigo assessment/treatment service.
The NHS Scotland service is designed to help patients and surgery teams.

NHS Lothian Minor Injury Process
From Monday 2nd November 2020 patients will phone the Flow Centre directly to access Minor Injury assessment across the Lothian area.
Patients who meet the inclusion criteria below will initially be offered a VC consultation if they have a smartphone or a Face to Face appointment if they do not. Following a VC consultation the Nurse Practitioner will either give the patients self-care advice or book a face to face appointment.
